More and more animal species are classified as "endangered species" or, in some cases, completely extinct as climate changes prominence as a threat continues to rise.

Undoubtedly, as mankind is the primary contributor to climate change, our actions substantially impact these endangered species' ability to survive. Animal patterns continue to be prevalent among the masses, particularly when it comes to clothes. In addition to using many natural resources, fast fashion releases a significant quantity of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Why is it then that the human race is so intrigued in wearing animal prints themselves, as the fast fashion industry is quite literally contributing to the extinction of the majestic animals they dress themselves to be?

The following photo series, "Burning The Photo Ark", specifically poses humans as some of the species most adversely impacted by climate change. Each piece of clothing was purchased second-hand in Upstate New York, and all makeup used is vegan and cruelty-free.

This series is inspired by Joel Sartores’ attempt to document all of the world's animal species prior to their eventual extinction. His efforts culminate in the National Geographic photo series, "The Photo Ark".

The World Wildlife Fund and National Geographic are the sources of all information about the animals portrayed.
